Valerie Fan

B.S. Public Health, Concentration in Medicinal Science, 2026

Valerie joined CNC as a research intern in her second year at UCSD. Aspired to attend medical school, Valerie joined CNC in hopes to gain more experience in medical research and to explore her passion for neuroscience. Within her free time, she likes working out at RIMAC, hanging out with friends and exploring San Diego.

Zoe (Myungjoo) Kim

B.S. Bioinformatics, 2025

Zoe joined CNC team her third year at UCSD. As a potential medical field contributor, Zoe willing to utilize the gained experience and acquired skills at CNC lab to achieve both clinical and computational aspects for healthcare, along with her interest in bioinformatics here. She spends her free time by dancing, working out, or spending time with her friends and family.

Raphael Pamintuan

B.S. Cognitive Science, Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, 2026

Raphael joined the CNC team entering his second year at UCSD as a Cognitive Science major. In his down time, Raphael can be found playing basketball, bowling, or hanging out with friends. He looks forward to contributing to the CNC and is excited to learn more about neurological disorders and the use of computer vision and machine learning techniques.

Starry Fu

B.S. Neurobiology, 2028

Starry joined the CNC team during her second year at UCSD. As a pre-med student with a focus on neurology or psychiatry, she was eager to deepen her understanding of neurological diseases and clinical data. She is also enthusiastic about contributing to the development of machine learning techniques, which she sees as having great potential in the future of neurobiology. In her free time, Starry enjoys exercising, spending time with friends, and exploring food

Catherine He

B.S. Data Science, 2028

Catherine joined CNC in her second year at UCSD. Her interests lie in quantifying data for real-world research applications and using computer vision to advance the understanding of diseases. She’s always excited to add new skills to her toolbox and broaden her worldview. In her free time, she enjoys napping.

Julianne Lee

B.S. Neurobiology, 2027

Julianne would like to pursue research on computational methods for analyzing motor symptoms and neural dynamics in neurological disorders, neural basis of neuropsychiatric disorders, and brain-computer interface (BCI). She spends her free time playing tennis, playing board games with friends, or reading mystery fiction.

Pavan Naguvanahalli Yashavantha

B.S. Computer Engineering, 2029

Pavan joined the CNC team in his first year at UCSD. He is enthusiastic about exploring and advancing the intersection of engineering and life sciences. Through the CNC, he wants to gain experience to learn to work at a biotechnology startup in the future. He spends his free time working out, playing tennis, programming, hanging out with friends, and learning something new everyday.

Vincent Nguyen

B.S. Microbiology, 2028

Vincent joined the CNC team as a research intern during his second year at UCSD. He joined CNC to deepen his experience in medical research to further prepare him for medical school as well as a future in medicine.  Outside of his academic life, Vincent enjoys playing basketball, playing the piano, and swimming.

Calie Rusandhy

B.S. Human Biology, 2028

Calie joined the CNC team to gain hands-on experience in clinical research, with the goal of pursuing medical school.
